Halloween takes over Paris on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, to the delight of mystery and thrill enthusiasts. Throughout the capital, Parisians, both newcomers and old-timers, indulge in small and big scares, with the numerous outings that await us for the occasion. Between costume parties, immersive experiences, and other activities, the Halloween period gives us a good dose of thrilling plans, amidst terrifying myths and legends.

How about conquering a haunted museum for a special night? That’s the experience that the Musée Rodin in Paris offers us through its “Welcome to Hell” evening scheduled for Halloween night. On October 31, 2023, this charming museum transforms itself to offer us an immersive journey to meet the museum’s ghosts. The starting point of this thrilling cultural adventure? The Gates of Hell, the impressive work of Auguste Rodin found in the famous sculpture garden.

When we set our eyes on this dizzying creation over 6 meters high, it is hard not to feel intimidated. This powerful artwork represents over 200 intertwined characters in a macabre ballet, among which we can distinguish familiar figures such as The Thinker, The Three Shades, or The Kiss. This monumental sculpture is particularly highlighted on this Halloween night, and you will be able to discover it like you have never seen it before.

At nightfall, The Gates of Hell are illuminated through projections, performances by dancers and actors, as well as a soundtrack to create an eerie and mysterious atmosphere. And this is just the beginning of the journey. The Musée Rodin then invites us to venture on a reimagined path, populated by ghosts. This path takes us, among other things, through the Wood of Torments and introduces us to the ogre Ugolin. Finally, a pop-up bar awaits us in the museum courtyard, promising “elixirs, poisons, and treats” to help us recover from our emotions.

Attention, the adventure is accessible to those aged 13 and over and reservations are mandatory. Get your tickets here!
