Get to Know the Unknown DFB Stars Taking on Peru

Against Peru: Pay attention – do you know the new unknown DFB stars?

National coach Hansi Flick has surprised everyone with his latest team nomination, which includes six players that were previously unknown. Under-21 national coach Antonio Di Salvo introduced these new faces, including the likes of Josha Vagnoman, who has only been a Bundesliga reservist but is now a hope for the future under Flick.

Vagnoman, who can play in both outer positions in the back four, interprets his role very bravely and offensively, according to Di Salvo. He became a European champion in 2021 under Di Salvo’s supervision and is now enjoying significant trust, despite being a bank player.

Another newcomer to Flick’s team is Felix Nmecha, who has played for both English and German teams in his youth. Nmecha, who was born in Hamburg and later emigrated to England with his family, is technically strong, tall, and a good connection player. Di Salvo worked with him on his return to the DFB and showed him a way to excel in the field.

Defender Dan-Axel Zagadou, who recently switched to AC Milan, is another nomination for Flick’s team. Despite a difficult start in Milan, Zagadou is tall, good in the air, and wins his duels, according to Di Salvo. He has been nominated for the injured armel Bella-Kotchap.

Marius Wolf, a newcomer to Flick’s team, underwent heart surgery last November and was on blood thinners for a month. He represents the new fighting mentality of league leaders BVB, where he is now a right-back. Wolf was previously considered a prank candidate but has proven himself in the field.

Kevin Schade, who is currently on loan from SC to England club Brentford, is also a newcomer to Flick’s team. He has an assist in seven Premier League games so far and is extremely fast. He can play on the wings and as a center forward, with a top speed of 37 km/h.

Mergim Berisha, who scored two goals for Bayern in the league when Flick was last in the stands, has already shown his strengths to the national coach. He has eight league goals and is good with his back to goal, has two feet, and takes good free-kicks. He was trained at RB Salzburg and Farmteam Liefering and is currently on loan from Fenerbahçe Istanbul to Augsburg.
