Florian Silbereisen on the first flirt with Helene Fischer: "I was always allowed to kiss her there"

Florian Silbereisen and Helene Fischer: The Beginning of a Love Story

For ten years, Florian Silbereisen and Helene Fischer were one of Germany’s most beloved couples. Silbereisen, the popular ARD moderator, and Fischer, the queen of hits, captivated fans with their talents and chemistry. But how did this love story start, and when was their first kiss?

The couple first met in 2005 when MDR was searching for a singer for a show alongside Silbereisen. They found their match in Helene Fischer, who made her TV debut on Silbereisen’s show “Wedding Festival of Folk Music.” Together, they sang the romantic chanson number “Come to Varaždin while the roses are still blooming.”

Fischer recalls the experience fondly, stating, “I really just held on to him a bit. I was very happy that he was by my side, and we mastered it together in a playful way.” But it wasn’t just singing – Silbereisen and Fischer exchanged tenderness even before their relationship began.

As part of the “Schlagerfest der Volksmusik” tour, they played a scene from the musical “Elisabeth.” Silbereisen embodied the role of “Tod” and was able to get particularly close to Fischer. “There I was always allowed to kiss her,” Silbereisen revealed.

However, their relationship did not blossom immediately. In an interview with “Bild,” Fischer revealed that it took them years to truly get to know each other. “I find it amazing that it took us years to really get to know each other,” she admitted.

Despite the slow start, the couple’s love story eventually took off. Their chemistry was evident in their music and onstage performances, and fans couldn’t get enough. They eventually split in 2018, but their love story will always be remembered by fans as one of Germany’s most beloved couples.
