Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro: Anticipated Price Surge for Max Variant

iPhone 15 Pro: Price increase expected specifically for the Max model

The iPhone 14 Pro Max is set to start at a price of 1450 euros, with the highest configuration reaching 2100 euros, making it an expensive option even among premium smartphones. However, industry analyst Jeff Pu suggests that the price of Apple’s flagship model may increase further in the fall, although the specific amount is not mentioned. The European pricing will also be influenced by the dollar-euro exchange rate at that time.

Rumors of a price hike for the next generation of iPhones are not new, and there were already speculations in March. These speculations were sparked by Apple CEO Tim Cook’s statement that customers are willing to go to great lengths to purchase the best iPhone, even in a challenging economic climate. What sets this speculation apart is that Pu specifically mentions the Pro Max model as a potential candidate for a price increase, rather than the overall Pro series. The reason for this could be the inclusion of a better camera, possibly a periscope camera, which will allow for improved technology and a more compact design. The current Pro models all have identical camera modules.

Pu also suggests that future iPhone models, such as the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max expected in autumn 2024, may see the introduction of static buttons instead of physical ones, similar to MacBook trackpads. This technology would simulate a click using haptic feedback from the Taptic Engine. However, this capacitive surface would not be compatible with gloves and would require a charged battery. The use of static buttons could provide a sturdier alternative, but technical difficulties have reportedly delayed its implementation. It remains uncertain whether this feature will be introduced next year.

Currently, Apple is preparing for production of the iPhone 15 models, which are expected to feature larger batteries, USB C instead of Lightning, and increased memory capacity. These details have been obtained through leaks from suppliers.
