Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris: There will be no sale of Parc des Princes

In a major interview with Ouest-France, the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, expressed her views on the sale of the Parc des Princes. Her position was clear: no. “I repeat: we are ready to study and support changes to the Parc. I also say it again today and once and for all: there will be no sale of the Parc des Princes, it is the heritage of the Parisians. The subject is closed,” she said.

Hidalgo had found the offer from PSG last spring to be very insufficient. While the club and the city hall had been at odds for many months, Emmanuel Grégoire, the first deputy mayor of Paris, had opened the door to resuming discussions four weeks ago. He had welcomed the fact that PSG had not submitted an application to purchase the Stade de France. However, the mayor, who was not pleased that the city was “violently criticized during the World Cup in Qatar, accusing us of preventing the club from developing,” once again closed the door to the Parc des Princes.
