An Important Fire on HEC Paris Campus: 150 People Evacuated

An article from Ouest-France reports that a fire broke out on Tuesday evening on the campus of HEC Paris in Jouy-en-Josas, in the Yvelines region. Approximately 150 people were evacuated as the fire spread in a building covering an area of 400 to 500 m2. The firefighters were able to extinguish the fire around 11 pm.

The fire, which started around 9 pm, caused a significant amount of smoke to rise above HEC Paris. According to BFM TV, the fire was confirmed by the AFP news agency. It was finally extinguished shortly before 11 pm and fortunately, there were no casualties.

Around 150 people were evacuated from the affected building, which covered an area of 800 m2. Nearly 60 firefighters were engaged in fighting the fire. The source of the fire is believed to be an amphitheater.

There were reports that economist Jacques Attali was giving a conference at HEC Paris on the evening of the fire, according to the HEC YouTube channel.

These incidents highlight the importance of fire safety measures and the quick response of emergency services in preventing further damage and ensuring the safety of individuals.
