Favorable draw for both French basketball teams

The French men’s basketball team has been drawn into Group B for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris. They will face off against defending champions Germany, Japan, and the winner of a qualifying tournament held in Latvia. The French team, who won silver in Tokyo in 2021, avoided being placed in the same group as the United States, who will be fielding a star-studded team in Paris.

On the women’s side, the French team managed to avoid the seven-time defending champions, the United States, in the draw. They will compete in Group B against Australia, Canada, and Nigeria, the bronze medalists from Tokyo in 2021. The road to the quarter-finals will be challenging, with only the top two teams from each group and the two best runners-up advancing.

In the “group of death” (Group C), the United States will face tough competition from Belgium, the defending European champions, Germany, and Japan. The final group (Group A) will pit China, the reigning vice-world champions, against Serbia, Spain, and Porto Rico. It promises to be an exciting competition as the teams battle for a spot in the knockout stage.
