Amazon has unveiled its newest and largest tablet, the Fire Max 11. It features an 11-inch screen and an 8-core processor that should make it suitable for modern games. Additionally, the tablet has 4 GB of memory, up to 128 GB of integrated storage, and Wi-Fi 6 support. The Fire Max 11 will weigh 490 grams and will be available on Amazon starting June 14th with prices starting at €270. This price includes 64 GB of RAM and Amazon advertisements. Without the ads, the tablet will cost €15 more.
Consumers who purchase the tablet with a stylus and a tablet case with an integrated keyboard pricing starts at €395. Without advertising and with 128 GB of RAM, the customer can get the full configuration for €440. For comparison, the Fire HD 10, Amazon’s previous largest tablet, was introduced two years ago and comes with a 10-inch display, 8-core CPU, 3 GB of RAM, and 32 or 64 GB of storage space, starting at €165. However, it does not include a fingerprint sensor to unlock the device.
Amazon has not disclosed further technical information about the Fire Max 11’s screen technology or battery capacity. The tablet offers up to 14 hours of battery life and can be charged in under four and a half hours via USB-C and the included 9-watt power adapter.
The Fire Max 11 features a MediaTek MT8188J processor with two ARM Cortex-A78 high-end cores and six energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores. The main memory is 4 GB, which may be tight compared to modern smartphones, but storage space can still be expanded with a microSD card. The tablet also includes Bluetooth 5.3, but there is no longer a 3.5 mm jack for headphones or headsets.
The Fire Max 11 supports Dolby Atmos surround sound with its two microphones and speakers. It has an 8-megapixel camera on both the front and the back. Amazon promises at least four years of software security updates and a limited one-year manufacturer’s warranty for the tablet.
The Fire Max 11 can be pre-ordered now at prices starting at €270 and will be available from June 14th.
