“Ze Artists to Perform in Paris: A Great Achievement”
The president of the theatrical association, Jérémy Papon, announced the exciting news during the general assembly on Wednesday, September 13, exactly one year after its establishment. The play, titled “Éventails et médisances,” written and directed by actress Valentine Habert, received great success during various performances in Vendée. This caught the attention of a Parisian theater searching for emerging troupes for their lineup.
The members of the troupe are “happy and excited like children embarking on an adventure. It’s a unique experience that we can’t wait to live!” For the playwright, who started with nothing, Ze Artists have come a long way. “A year ago, we didn’t have a venue to rehearse and hold workshops. It was our president and his parents who opened the doors to their house and outbuilding.”
After multiple requests to the municipality, a suitable venue was found midway through the year. “As the association had no history, we were not entitled to any subsidies. We had to find funds from sponsors to pay for costumes, scenery, communication, and the rental of Le Marais Theater to perform there,” adds Valentine Habert.
Ze Artists will give six performances in Paris on December 15, 16, and 17, 2023, as well as January 19, 20, and 21, 2024, at Théâtre Pixel, 18 Rue Championnet. Simultaneously, rehearsals for Valentine Habert’s new play, titled “10 cm,” will start on September 20. This new comedy will be performed on April 27 and 28, 2024, at Espace Prévoirie in Soullans.
