A 7-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in the night from Saturday to Sunday in the garden of Trocadéro (XVIe). A 35-year-old suspect was arrested, according to a source close to the investigation, confirming information from Le Parisien.
It was the girl’s father who alerted the police when a stranger had forcibly kissed her on the mouth. The police quickly arrived on the scene and arrested the alleged perpetrator, who was held in place by the father.
The suspect, who was intoxicated and of Afghan nationality, was placed in deferred custody. He was to be questioned on Sunday once his blood alcohol level had returned to zero. The parents of the girl were also expected to file a complaint. An investigation has been opened.
Not far from there, on the Champ-de-Mars (VIIe), a 23-year-old English tourist was the victim of a rape last October, in the middle of the night. The police from the anti-crime brigade (BAC) had arrested the alleged perpetrator shortly afterwards, a homeless man in his thirties.
