39 members of the far-right movement arrested and placed in custody for ‘degradations’ risks

39 members of the far-right movement were arrested and placed in police custody on Saturday, February 10 in the afternoon in Paris for “participation in a group aiming to commit acts of vandalism,” franceinfo learned from the Paris prosecutor’s office on Saturday. They were all placed in police custody. About fifteen of them are classified as S files.

These individuals were arrested at 4 p.m. at the exit of the Charonne cemetery in the 20th arrondissement of the capital by police officers from the Brav-M, the Brigade for the Repression of Violent Motorized Action.

Among them are well-known figures of the far right, including Marc de Cacqueray-Valmenier, former leader of the groupuscule “Zouaves,” dissolved in January 2022 in the Council of Ministers, as well as Gabriel Loustau, a figure of the GUD, the Group Union Defense, an organization of the extreme right.

On X, the prefect of police of Paris Laurent Nuñez congratulated the agents of the prefecture of police, including the Brav-M, for their reactivity.
