Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Yvandro Borges has recently expressed his desire to challenge Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo. Speaking to BILD, the 22-year-old Brazilian defender stated that he considers Ronaldo to be one of the best footballers in the world and looks forward to facing him on the field.
Borges joined Borussia Mönchengladbach in January 2021 from Brazilian side Avaí FC on a four-and-a-half-year contract. He has made six appearances for the club so far and is determined to make a name for himself in the Bundesliga.
The young defender believes that facing Ronaldo would be a huge test of his abilities and a chance for him to showcase his talent on a global platform. He stated, “I don’t just want to play against him, I want to challenge him. I want to show everyone what I’m capable of and make a name for myself.”
Borges also credited Gladbach head coach Marco Rose for helping him settle in quickly and adapt to the Bundesliga. The defender’s performances have caught the eye of many and he is seen as a promising prospect for the future.
