Woman’s Body Found in Hotel Room in Paris, Investigation Opened

The body of a woman was found in a hotel room in Paris, with a “deep wound” to the neck in a hotel room on Saturday, January 13, 2024 in Paris, the prosecution and a police source said on Sunday. An investigation for murder has been opened.

The woman was born in 1980. Her body was discovered around 1 p.m. by a hotel employee who came to clean the room, according to the police source. The victim had been a guest at this hotel for nearly a week, located between the Porte de Clichy and the Clichy-Batignolles park, in the 17th arrondissement.

The circumstances are not yet known.

She arrived at the hotel at the same time as a man, who had initially settled in the next room, according to the police source. According to the initial elements of the investigation, this man would have left the hotel a few hours before the discovery of the body, Saturday morning around 6:30 am. Two other women, linked to this man and staying in other rooms of the establishment, would have also left the hotel on Saturday, late in the morning.

The investigation, entrusted to the first district of the judicial police, “will aim to determine the circumstances of this death,” the prosecution added.
