Woman found dead in a hotel in Paris: two people taken into custody

A woman’s lifeless body was discovered in a hotel in the 17th arrondissement of Paris on Saturday, January 13, 2024. Two people are currently in police custody as part of the murder investigation, according to the prosecutor’s office, confirming information from Le Parisien.

The two individuals in custody are two women who were apparently close to the victim and had been staying with her, the prosecutor’s office stated. The continued police custody will determine whether the two suspects were involved in the death, the circumstances of which are still unclear.

According to Le Parisien, the two suspects were apprehended at the last minute in the morning while they were at Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport, preparing to leave the country. Meanwhile, the main suspect is still being sought.

The victim, born in 1980, was found in a hotel room located between Porte de Clichy and Parc des Batignolles. She had an unexplained wound on her neck at the time her body was discovered.

An investigation for murder has been opened with the aim of determining the exact circumstances of the death. It has been entrusted to the 1st district of the judicial police.
