Victoria Beckham opens a space at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann in Paris

Victoria Beckham has opened a retail space in Paris, through a corner at the Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. The British ready-to-wear brand led by the eponymous designer has just inaugurated a space on the second floor of the department store, which houses the universe of women’s fashion welcoming, among others, the shops-in-shop of brands such as Marni, Dries Van Noten, or Jil Sander.

This is not the first time the British designer has set up a corner in a Parisian department store. She already opened a space in 2015 on the first floor of Galeries Lafayette Coupole, while the previous year her brand had secured a space at Printemps Haussmann.

This new space was inaugurated by Victoria Beckham herself, a few weeks after her Parisian show in early March. She offers creations from her collection for spring-summer 2024. Dresses and suits with a chic contemporary design, made from luxurious materials, and accessories.

The stylist has been showing her collections in the City of Light since September 2022, where she unveiled her latest collection in early March and hopes to open a boutique. She lived there in 2013 when her soccer star husband, David Beckham, played for Paris Saint-Germain, where he ended his soccer career.

For now, Victoria Beckham only has one monobrand store, opened in 2014 in London on Dover Street, as well as her online store launched in 2013. The brand, founded in 2008 by the former Spice Girls singer, is also distributed through around 230 retailers in 50 countries.

The British brand has expanded its offering over the years by diversifying into accessories with bags, shoes, small leather goods, and eyewear, as well as a line of perfumes and cosmetics. After facing difficulties, the house seems to have turned the tide, according to one of the shareholders, who announced in the press a turnover of 100 million euros for 2023.

In 2022, according to the latest published financial statement, Victoria Beckham’s operating losses had been reduced from £3.9 million to £0.9 million and pre-tax losses from £5.9 million in 2021 to £3.1 million a year later, while sales reached £58.8 million (€68.58 million), up 44%.

The brand is controlled by the couple’s holding company, Beckham Brand Holdings, while since 2017, the investment fund Neo Investment Partners led by Frenchman David Belhassen has taken a minority stake in the company through a capital increase.
