Two Individuals Arrested for Drawing Fifteen David Stars on Walls on Friday

Two people of Moldovan nationality were arrested in the act in the 10th arrondissement. They claim to have acted on the request of a third party.

Two people have been arrested on Friday, October 27, suspected of using a stencil to spray-paint about fifteen Stars of David in Paris, learned franceinfo from a source close to the case this Wednesday, confirming information from BFMTV. These individuals claim to have acted on the request of a third party, according to the Paris prosecutor’s office.

These two individuals, a man born in June 1990 and a woman born in December 1994, both of Moldovan nationality, were caught in the act for aggravated damage committed due to origin or religion. A resident had reported seeing them spray-painting a blue star in the 10th arrondissement.

Being in an irregular situation, they have been placed in an administrative detention center. The judicial procedure has therefore been classified on the grounds of a “punishment of another nature” (in this case, their deportation from the territory).

However, the authors of the sixty Stars of David sprayed with a stencil on walls in Paris and Ile-de-France on the night of Monday to Tuesday, have still not been identified.
