Twenty-two Parisian Museums Where You Can Spend the Night (or

Traditionally, museums close their doors between 5pm and 6pm. But some cultural venues like to be night owls. This is the case for the Museum of Modern Art, the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, and even the Palais de Tokyo, which stay open late into the night. We’ll tell you all about it!

Until 9pm

– Every day of the week for… the Centre George Pompidou (Paris Centre).
– Every Tuesday for… the Jeu de Paume (8th arrondissement).
– Every Wednesday for… the Monnaie de Paris (6th arrondissement) and the Museum of Art and History of Judaism (Paris Centre).
– Every Thursday for… the Museum of Modern Art (16th arrondissement), the Marmottan-Monet Museum (16th arrondissement), and the City of Architecture and Heritage (16th arrondissement).
– Every Friday for… the Orangerie Museum (Paris Centre) and the Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection (Paris Centre).

Until 10pm

– Every Monday for… the Luxembourg Museum (6th arrondissement).
– Every Wednesday for… the Maillol Museum (7th arrondissement).
– Every Thursday for… the Orsay Museum (7th arrondissement), the Quai Branly Museum (7th arrondissement), and the Maison Européenne de la Photographie (Paris Centre).
– Every Friday for… the Louvre Museum (Paris Centre).
– Every Saturday for… the Atelier des Lumières (11th arrondissement).

Until 11pm

– Every Thursday for… the Centre Pompidou (level 6 spaces only).

Until midnight

– Every Thursday for… the Palais de Tokyo (16th arrondissement).

And the others?

– The majority of museums in Paris close at 6pm.
– Other museums occasionally keep their doors open during certain periods. For example:
– The Museum of Hunting and Nature, open every Wednesday until 9:30pm except in July and August.
– The Delacroix Museum and the Cluny Museum have late openings every first Thursday of the month until 9pm.
– The Army Museum (7th arrondissement) is open until 10pm every first Friday of the month.

Caution
