Transfer Market – PSG: 203M€ Jackpot in Paris

During the last summer transfer window, Luis Campos cleaned house in Luis Enrique’s team. The PSG football advisor got rid of a large number of players, including stars like Lionel Messi, Neymar, Sergio Ramos, and Marco Verratti. Thanks to all these departures, PSG pocketed more than €203 million in the offseason.

After completely missing out on the second half of the 2022-2023 season with Christophe Galtier, PSG decided to part ways with the French coach. As Luis Enrique took his place on the Parisian bench, the top officials of the club also decided to launch a huge trimming operation during the last summer transfer window. The PSG parted ways with a large number of players in order to completely revamp the club and reinvigorate a positive dynamic.

During the last summer transfer window, Luis Campos pushed many players towards the exit. The PSG football advisor did not hesitate to send some stars packing. Neymar, Marco Verratti, Sergio Ramos, and Lionel Messi, among others, all left the Paris club during the last summer transfer window. Thanks to this flood of departures, PSG collected a huge sum last summer.

While the PSG completed several loans and free transfers last summer, they also managed to finalize some very lucrative deals. The most expensive sale of the club in the offseason saw Neymar transferred to Al Hilal for close to €90 million. Meanwhile, Marco Verratti and Abdou Diallo both moved to Al Arabi for roughly €45 million and €15 million respectively. Mauro Icardi, permanently transferred to Galatasaray after a year on loan, brought PSG a check of around €10 million. Julian Draxler also moved to Al Ahli, bringing in approximately €9 million for PSG. In addition, Georginio Wijnaldum migrated to Saudi Arabia with Al Ettifaq, earning PSG nearly €8 million. Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe moved to Eintracht Frankfurt for about €6.5 million after failing to establish himself at PSG. Leandro Paredes was sold to AS Roma for €2.5 million, and the Italian club also paid about €1 million to PSG for the loan of Renato Sanches. Sheffield also contributed to the wealth of PSG, forking out around €1 million for the transfer of Djeidi Gassama. Finally, Timothée Pembelé was sold to Sunderland, but the amount of the transaction did not emerge. In total, PSG pocketed more than €203 million from finalized departures last summer.
