Train Traffic Between Paris and the Atlantic Coast Still Slow, Delays Up to Two Hours

Train services between Paris, Brittany, Pays de la Loire, and the Southwest of France remain disrupted this Friday afternoon following a person incident south of Massy, in Essonne, at 7 am. On the Atlantic axis, TGV services have gradually resumed after being completely interrupted between Paris and Brittany in both directions. In the Southwest, traffic has also gradually resumed in the morning.

However, significant delays persist this Friday afternoon departing from several western and Paris Montparnasse stations. “Delays will continue on certain trains until the situation is resolved,” SNCF stated in the late morning, after specifying that “services have resumed on high-speed lines.” Expect delays to take some time to be resolved.

Significant delays are still reported departing from Montparnasse station, with delays of up to 2 hours in Brittany and Pays de la Loire still expected. In the morning, delays reached 3 hours and 40 minutes.

Train services towards Brittany and Pays de la Loire have gradually resumed in the morning after being completely interrupted in both directions between Paris and Saint-Pierre des Corps. “To bypass the incident location, TGVs from Brittany and Pays de la Loire are taking another route where speed must be reduced. Therefore, delays ranging from 60 minutes to 3 hours and 30 minutes for your TGV INOUI and OUIGO trains between Massy TGV and Marcoussis are expected,” the company stated.

In the west, significant delays are still announced, with up to two hours of delay reported in Nantes or Rennes stations after delays reached 3 hours and 40 minutes in the morning.

In the Southwest, delays remain significant this Friday afternoon, with up to 2 hours of delay reported departing from Bordeaux station. Traffic gradually resumed from 10:30 am after being completely interrupted between Paris and destinations in the region. SNCF stated they were unable to operate TGVs on alternative routes due to work on those tracks. Delays reached up to 3 hours and 30 minutes in the morning.
