The Youth Municipal Council Visits Paris

For over 6 months, Viviane Bonami, deputy for childhood and youth, has been working tirelessly with her team to ensure that the elected members of the youth council can realize a three-day trip to Paris. The dream has become a reality for Ariane, Eléna, Estéban, Iker, Jules, and Léo. “Even though the municipality contributed with an exceptional grant, we sold lilies of the valley and participated in numerous activities to raise 4,700 €,” she explains.

The group left at the end of October by train, headed for Paris. The young people were first invited by Senator Laurent Burgoa to visit the Senate and attend a question session in the chamber. They were also received at the National Assembly by Deputy Michel Sala.

During these three days, other essential visits were proposed to the small group: the Grévin museum, the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Élysées, a picnic on the banks of the Seine, a boat trip on the Seine, etc. Finally, with unpredictable weather, the young people from Clarensac enjoyed a tour of the Paris sewers.

Upon their return, tired and exhausted, the members of the youth council assured that they would not forget this escapade. A trip that will surely inspire others…
