The duration of the queue at the Eiffel Tower is exasperating tourists

Visiting the Eiffel Tower, a must for tourists passing through Paris. But what is supposed to be a visit that will remain in the memory regularly turns into a long ordeal. Blame it on an endless wait. According to a study by hawaiianislands.com and reported by Le Figaro, the Iron Lady is the monument that generates the most frustration in the world due to its waiting line. To make this ranking, the site analyzed more than 10 million reviews on TripAdvisor, posted on the 100 most popular attractions in each country.

The Eiffel Tower tops this ranking, followed by the London Eye in London and the Colosseum in Rome. As for the top three French attractions, we find Disneyland Paris and the Louvre Museum. The Parisian tower welcomed 5.8 million visitors in 2022.

During peak times, the wait can last for several hours before accessing the visit. Aware of this waiting line issue, the operators of the Eiffel Tower recommend prioritizing online booking. These tickets are timed and “guarantee you to climb to the top regardless of the day’s crowd.” And they warn: “In the event of on-site purchase, ticket sales for the summit may be interrupted due to saturation caused by the number of visitors.”

And if you prefer a spur-of-the-moment visit, the Tower’s website invites you to go on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays or from the opening at 9 am, “where the crowd is generally the lowest outside of peak season.”
