The Cross Once Again Overlooks the Monument

Notre-Dame de Paris is being reconstructed and will once again be accessible to the public in one year. The cathedral’s spire has regained its majestic cross. At the foot of Notre-Dame, the cross is resting for a few more minutes before being lifted to the top of the spire. An ascent of 96 meters, well above the Parisian rooftops, it may be massive (weighing more than 1.5 tonnes of metal and 8 meters long), but it is carefully placed within minutes. This new cross and its elaborate ornaments were crafted in a Lorraine-based company.
