The city hall stutters, Paris wants to negotiate with PSG

The showdown between Paris Saint-Germain and the city of Paris continues for the Parc des Princes. While Nasser al-Khelaïfi has expressed his desire to find another stadium, Pierre Rabadan is calling for a renewal of dialogue.

PSG is at a historic turning point. Eager to buy the Parc des Princes, the capital club is facing numerous refusals from the city council on this matter. Despite the millions of euros invested in renovating the Parisian stadium, Anne Hidalgo and the Paris Council refuse to give in to PSG’s leaders. Furious, Nasser al-Khelaïfi recently expressed his decision to soon leave the Parc des Princes to find another venue for his club, considering that he has wasted enough time trying to negotiate with Anne Hidalgo. If the Stade de France is no longer for sale, the Qatari president claims to have already studied other options. On France Info, the deputy mayor of Paris in charge of Sports commented on this news and hopes to be able to discuss with the Qatari leader again in order to find common ground.

“It is not Anne Hidalgo who decided not to sell. The dialogue has been broken for almost two years. We need to meet, time has passed, we need to change our attitude, no one should be taken hostage. The club has a contract with the park until 2043. We want the same thing as the supporters, we want PSG to stay at the Parc des Princes. This is where the club was created, grew, and made its history. I regret the current climate, which is not pleasant for anyone, especially for PSG supporters,” said Pierre Rabadan, who has spoken out on this dispute numerous times. PSG now seems determined to leave the Parc des Princes, bad news for the city of Paris, which may have to reconsider and negotiate with Nasser al-Khelaïfi, even though a vote by the elected officials has confirmed the refusal to cede the stadium at the Porte de Saint-Cloud to Paris Saint-Germain.
