AMD has expanded its range of AM5 processors since entering the market last year. They also released a six-core processor with 3D V-Cache, but only as an exclusive model for a US retail chain.
However, AMD was missing a budget model under 200 euros, and they have now addressed that with the Ryzen 5 7500F. Reports from the Far East suggest that it will be launched with a recommended retail price of 179 US dollars. This makes it $50 cheaper than the Ryzen 5 7600, and if there are no additional charges in the EU, it could be available in Germany for €180.
The release of the budget processor comes at a convenient time. Initially, AM5 motherboards were comparatively expensive, and DDR5 RAM was also slow to decrease in price. However, now there are affordable DDR5 RAM options and inexpensive A620 boards available for around 85 euros. The Ryzen 5 7500F completes the package for those looking to build a cheap AM5 computer.
While AMD has not officially announced the Ryzen 5 7500F in Europe and the USA, there have been reviews in China, which may explain the rumors of it being a China-exclusive processor. However, this is not the case, and the CPU should soon be available in shops in Germany. The processor is based on Zen 4 technology with chiplet design and is closely related to the six-core Ryzen 5 7600. The only noticeable difference is a 100 MHz base and turbo clock decrease, which accounts for less than three percent difference.
Initial tests by Chinese media show that the Ryzen 5 7500F performs slightly lower than the Ryzen 5 7600, with a performance deficit of only 2 to 3 percent. However, it has slightly higher gaming performance than Intel’s Core i5-13500. The Ryzen 5 7500F does not have integrated RDNA2 graphics like other Ryzen 7000 processors, making it less suitable for simple office computers without a dedicated graphics card.
