Streaming Price Wars: DAZN Keeps Striking with Competitive Pricing

Streaming: DAZN continues to turn the price screw

The streaming provider DAZN is making changes to its subscription packages, resulting in increased prices for Bundesliga and Uefa Champions League games. Previously, these games were included in the standard package, which cost 30 euros per month or 25 euros annually. However, they are now only available in the most expensive package, “DAZN Unlimited”, which costs just under 45 euros per month or 30 euros in an annual subscription.

The “DAZN Standard” package, which previously included games from other European leagues in addition to the Bundesliga and Champions League, is no longer available. Instead, customers can opt for the “DAZN Super Sports” package, which includes the Italian Serie A, Spanish La Liga, French Ligue 1, and some US sports. The monthly cost for this package is 25 euros, or 20 euros for an annual subscription.

The “DAZN World” package, which costs 10 euros per month, now also offers an annual subscription option for 7 euros per month. This package includes various national football cup competitions, the Dutch Eredivisie, Portuguese Primeira Liga, English Third Division, as well as women’s Champions League and women’s leagues from Spain and France. It also includes trend sports like darts and table tennis.

To access the Bundesliga and Champions League games on DAZN, customers will now have to pay at least 5 euros more compared to previous prices. Additionally, the number of simultaneous streams allowed depends on the subscription package. The unlimited subscription only allows one active stream with monthly billing, while two parallel streams are possible with an annual subscription. The other packages only allow one active stream, likely to discourage account sharing.

Existing customers with active subscriptions will keep their current tariffs as long as they don’t cancel. However, customers with annual subscriptions should be aware of the end of their contract and extend it if necessary to avoid being converted to more expensive monthly subscriptions. Another change is that monthly subscriptions can no longer be canceled at the end of the term with short notice. A notice period of 30 days now applies, meaning customers will continue to pay for almost a month if they cancel at the end of their term.
