Sports – Football – Ligue 1: The Ultras Paris Collective Wants to Stay at Parc des Princes

In a recent statement, the Collectif ultras Paris (CUP) declared, “Our position: PSG is the Parc des Princes and the Parc des Princes is PSG,” and “we do not envision being the generation of supporters who have seen the club leave its home stadium.” The CUP is adamant about the club staying at the Parc des Princes.

Prior to this, at the UEFA congress, a Qatari leader stated to journalists, “It’s too easy to say now that the stadium is no longer for sale. We know what we want, we wasted years wanting to buy the Parc. It’s over now, we want to move from the Parc.” This statement has caused tension and uncertainty among supporters.

The situation has escalated due to the club’s need to acquire the stadium in order to expand it to 60,000 seats, compared to the current 48,000. The Paris City Council, the owner of the stadium, has repeatedly insisted that they do not want to sell the Parc des Princes.

The Council has reaffirmed their position, emphasizing that any modernization of the stadium “must be carried out in a way that satisfies all parties, but does not involve its sale.” The CUP has expressed their concerns about the political reasons behind the decision and has made it clear that they will not accept the sacrifice of the club and its stadium.
