After moving to Werder Bremen, Amos Pieper, a 25-year-old central defender, revealed in an interview with BILD that one of his idols is Sergio Ramos, who currently plays for Paris St.-Germain and is 36 years old.

Pieper admired the duel leadership of Sergio Ramos in a game and believed he could learn a lot from him. The birth of the nickname Sergio Amos? It is not something his teammates or friends call him, but Pieper doesn’t mind it becoming his nickname because it is not the worst thing someone can be called. Pieper states in an interview that his style of play is robust and resolute.
Long Career at the Top
The young defender particularly admired Sergio Ramos for his long-term career success. “It’s insane when you see how long he’s been at the top of the world. He played almost 20 years ago. I could always look up to him during my development,” explains Pieper. However, Pieper acknowledges that Ramos sometimes goes beyond the limits of what is allowed when playing soccer.
Robust and Resolute Style of Play
Pieper saw himself in the same vein as the Spanish central defender with five warnings within seven games at the start of the season. Since then, only three have been added. Pieper said he does not worry about being aggressive on the field as it is how he plays.
