Resident Evil 4 Remake Shatters Sales Records: Over 3 Million Copies Sold in Just 48 Hours!

The Remake of Resident Evil 4: Another Sales Success for Capcom

The release of Resident Evil 4 Remake has once again proved to be a sales success for Capcom. The company recently made a statement announcing that the game sold a staggering 3 million units within the first 48 hours of its release. The return of the popular character, Leon S. Kennedy, has been a great boost for the Japanese developer, who continues to register large figures for each new launch in the market. The game was released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, and PC.

Leon S. Kennedy’s adventure against the won and Las Plagas has had a fantastic performance, despite the fact that the original game still holds up decently. There was a great desire among fans to return to deep Spain, which Capcom has successfully tapped into with the remake.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Makes the Saga Grow

Capcom’s reorganization a few years ago has had a significant impact on the company’s sales and profit. Since then, the company has continuously broken sales records with their games, including the Resident Evil remakes. Resident Evil 2 Remake has already sold over 11.2 million units, while Resident Evil 3 Remake has registered 6.4 million copies sold. And now with Resident Evil 4, Capcom is on its way to sell even more units in the coming months. In terms of the franchise, the cumulative shipments of the games in the series now exceed 135 million units since the first game debuted in 1996.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is not done yet, as dataminers have found clues that point to additional DLC, such as Ada’s Separate Ways story, being added to the game. This could further bolster the game’s sales figures. Meanwhile, fans are enjoying some of the game’s curiosities, such as a trick that allows you to skip part of the start of the game “when it goes the bell” or a nod to speedrunners that hasn’t gone unnoticed.
