Did you know that Paris has its own wine museum? Located in the 16th arrondissement of the capital, this historical institution invites you to take a stroll through its 15th-century vaulted cellars to reveal all the secrets of wine culture. Renovated and renamed M. Musée du Vin, the venue promises a rich program including a restaurant, tasting courses, gastronomic experiences, temporary exhibitions, concerts, and Parisian evenings. It will reopen to the public on September 19, 2023.

Paris, the capital of French gastronomy, is full of culinary treasures, and among them, there is an unusual spot that is sure to charm wine and history enthusiasts: the Wine Museum. The institution is nestled on rue des Eaux in the 16th arrondissement of the capital. A name that may make you smile, and yet its location is not by chance…

The museum is established on a former vineyard dating back to the 6th century, called Nigeon and later the village of Chaillot. Much later, the village of Passy was built on the site and used the old quarries to create cellars. After the French Revolution, the location was destroyed and forgotten, until the rediscovery of these quarries in the 20th century.

Today, these medieval quarries, dating back to the 15th century, house the Wine Museum, which opened its doors in 1984. By exploring its vaulted cellars, you will dive into the history of this French heritage treasure, thanks to a collection of over 2200 pieces. The museum unveils the different stages of wine production, offering an enriching experience for wine enthusiasts and the curious.

After several months of renovation, the Wine Museum, renamed M. Musée du Vin, returns to the Parisian scene on September 19, 2023, transformed into a cultural and festive venue, with tasting courses, temporary exhibitions, concerts, and events that will liven up the Parisian nights. Also a haven for food lovers, the venue houses a restaurant where you can savor French cuisine made with seasonal ingredients, prepared by chef R. Labiadh.

The experience at M. Musée du Vin is further enhanced by the annex: Le M. L’Appartement, located on the first floor of the mansion that houses the museum. This versatile space offers tasting courses, conferences, a bar for lively tasting sessions hosted by chef Valentin Néraudeau (Top Chef 2013), and even a room for luxury wine weekends.

Beyond the exhibition, M. Musée du Vin is a place of multiple discoveries, celebrating French wine culture. An intoxicating gourmet experience to be discovered in an unusual setting from September 19, 2023.
