PSG: A “very high level” player is announced in Paris, it’s a surprise
Hungry for sports, he grew up to the sound of Formula 1 engines and Ronaldinho’s exploits. Today, with a Master’s degree in sports journalism, he never misses a Formula 1 Grand Prix or a PSG match, his two passions and specialties.
Recruited for around 20 million euros in 2022, Carlos Soler has never managed to establish himself at PSG. The arrival of Luis Enrique, as well as the departure of many stars last summer, could have been beneficial for him, but the Spaniard is still not a regular starter in Paris. Despite this, Luis Enrique has nothing but praise for his compatriot.
Little used by Christophe Galtier, Carlos Soler likely thought he would return to the forefront with Luis Enrique, a coach who knows him well, having regularly called him up when he was the manager of the Spanish national team. And although he is still not a regular starter, Carlos Soler is highly appreciated by his compatriot.
Luis Enrique praises Soler
“Well, when I see that a player is capable of playing well, not just playing, but playing well, and not everyone can do that, and he’s able to understand the situations we find ourselves in, for me, that’s very interesting. We have a lot of players who can do that, Vitinha, Marco Asensio, Théo, Warren, Kang-in Lee, I don’t want to forget Fabian too,” rejoices PSG’s coach, before adding more.
“Carlos Soler is a player of very high level”
“We have a lot of players who can play in different positions and Carlos Soler is one of these players. I believe that these players who play in several positions prefer to play at a specific position, I know that, but building a team is also about making connections between all these individual interests for the collective benefit. Carlos Soler is a player of very high level, I took him to the World Cup and the World Cup, there were 23 players from a single country, which was Spain. It is clear that I have confidence in him, he can still improve. This is what I expect from him,” Luis Enrique adds.
