Pro-Palestinian Demonstration Banned Thursday Night Outside School

The Urgence Palestine collective, consisting of associations and unions and behind regular demonstrations in support of the population of Gaza, called for a “rally” on Thursday evening in front of Sciences Po Paris, stating on the social network X that “denouncing genocide is not a crime.”

The prestigious Parisian establishment has been in turmoil since Tuesday after a student member of the Union of Jewish Students of France (UEJF) reported being denied entry to an amphitheater at the prestigious Parisian school during a “European university mobilization day for Palestine” which disrupted a lecture.

According to Sciences Po management, this student was “prevented from accessing the amphitheater” where the action was taking place. “Accusatory remarks were made (at the lectern, editor’s note) against” the student association, added the institution on X.

Sciences Po has referred the matter to the public prosecutor’s office for acts of anti-Semitism, based on Article 40 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
