Paris secures a second victory in Eurocup

Paris Basketball secured their second win in the group stage of the Eurocup, on the second day of play on Wednesday in Venice (81-75). Despite struggling in the third quarter (59-52), Paris managed to keep the gap from widening too much. Led by Nadir Hifi’s 17 points, they stepped up their defensive efforts in the fourth quarter, making stops and pushing the pace to secure a 25-15 run that proved fatal for the Italians.

Point guard TJ Shorts, despite struggling with his shooting (6 of 15 from the field), made a significant impact with his speed and vision. He recorded 6 assists, drew 10 fouls, and didn’t commit a single turnover. In the final five minutes, Shorts led the team’s assault, containing the late attacks from the former Paris Basketball player, Amir Simms (28 points, 10 rebounds), who had an impressive game, as well as Italian center Amadeo Tessitori (21 points). However, Venice was limited in its rotations due to several absences, including international player Marco Spissu.

With this victory, Paris Basketball continues its excellent start to the season, boasting seven wins and one loss across all competitions. They now sit atop Group A in the Eurocup, alongside Besiktas Istanbul and London.
