Paris Saint-Germain wins the Ligue 1 classic, Mbappé exits frustrated

On Sunday evening, just after an hour of play between OM and PSG, Kylian Mbappé was replaced by his coach, which he did not appreciate. It was his last game against OM before leaving PSG in the summer, and he was determined to shine but ended up being replaced.

Mbappé had been previously jeered by the Marseille crowd during the French team’s match against Chile a few days earlier. This Sunday, with over 66,000 spectators in the stands, he failed to score, leaving it to his teammates Vitinha and Gonçalo Ramos to secure PSG’s 2-0 victory.

Despite being visibly frustrated at being substituted, Mbappé maintained a positive attitude after the match. He smiled in the locker room and was content with the win, as observed by defender Milan Skriniar. He later posted a photo on Instagram showing him from behind with the captain’s armband, without any comment.

Coach Luis Enrique defended his decision to substitute Mbappé, citing his tactical choices. Mbappé, who started on the left but was moved to the center after a teammate’s expulsion, had a quiet game with few touches and no shots on goal. His replacement, Gonçalo Ramos, scored the second goal for PSG, symbolizing a shift in Parisian football.

Luis Enrique addressed the substitution in a post-match interview, emphasizing that he is the manager and makes decisions based on the team’s best interests. This move highlights the end of an era for Mbappé at PSG.
