Paris: Grand Frais opens its first store in the capital, here’s where

Grand Frais, the supermarket chain, is expanding its reach to Paris after establishing itself in the provinces and Île-de-France. According to Le Monde, the supermarket chain will open its first store in the capital in the first quarter of 2024. The store will be located at 20 rue Lecourbe, in the 15th arrondissement, replacing a Bio C ‘Bon store owned by Carrefour.

The 485.8 m² store will be called Mon-marché.fr, named after its delivery service in Paris and its nearby suburbs. The concept of Grand Frais was created in 1992 in Lyon by the entrepreneur Denis Dumont, son of fruit and vegetable wholesalers. Today, the chain has more than 250 stores throughout France, mostly on the outskirts of medium and large cities.

However, due to the high real estate prices in the capital, stores with over 2000 m² are not economically viable. Hence, the concept of home delivery seems to have been chosen. Stay up to date with the latest news from your favorite cities and media outlets by signing up for Mon Actu.
