Paris, Fourth Rudest City in France According to Ranking

Paris, the fourth largest city in France where people are the rudest? According to the language learning platform Preply, this is the result of a survey conducted to 1,500 residents in the 15 largest cities in France. The capital is among the rudest cities, behind Lyon, Marseille, and Nice.

The stereotype of the grumpy Parisian might have some truth to it, as the survey shows that Lyon is the champion of rudeness. Toulouse, Strasbourg, and Rennes, on the other hand, are the most polite cities.

Despite the reputation of being impolite in foreign countries, the survey seems to confirm the common belief, with 68% of respondents agreeing with this statement.

At the top of typically French impoliteness are swearing. Other frequently cited rude behaviors include being absorbed by one’s phone in public, not picking up dog droppings, making noise in public, or boarding a train before letting passengers off.
