Paris: Former Miss France Malika Ménard Files a Complaint Over Death Threats

The police are looking for the attacker who verbally assaulted Malika Ménard, former Miss France. A police investigation has been opened. The incident took place on Saturday at 1 pm, on Boulevard de Bonne-Nouvelle in Paris, near the Théâtre du Gymnase, not far from the Strasbourg-Saint-Denis metro station.

Malika Ménard, now 35 years old, journalist and television presenter, was verbally threatened with death. The former beauty queen had come to retrieve her bike that she had parked in this Parisian neighborhood. In the basket, she found a paper with death threats written on it: “Someone has just obtained a duplicate of your keys to kill you.” “I will be at McDonald’s tonight between 11 pm and 2 am.” “Change the lock.” All signed “White Beard.”

At 6 pm, Malika Ménard went to the police station at Gare du Nord to file a complaint for death threats.

The former Miss France informed the police that she had approached the Delaville brasserie on the boulevard, next to where she had parked her bike, as the establishment is equipped with surveillance cameras. With one of the managers, Malika Ménard was able to view the footage. It shows a man placing the message on her bike at 2 am, more than 10 hours before the victim discovered it.

The police in the anti-criminal brigade recovered the images of the assailant, along with his description. A surveillance operation has been put in place in the Bonne Nouvelle area.

The investigation, entrusted to the police officers of Gare du Nord, is ongoing. According to a police source, the person responsible for the threats is “a marginalized individual known in the neighborhood, more disturbed than offensive.”
