Paris FC considering playing home matches outside of Paris

The grass at Charléty stadium is deteriorating day by day, and Paris FC could play their next home game against Ajaccio, scheduled for March 16, outside the Paris region.

Being a player for Paris FC is far from simple at the moment. In recent days, the Charléty pitch has been under severe strain, especially last weekend, when the women’s match against ASSE was postponed due to the catastrophic state of the field. To preserve it, Sandrine Soubeyrand’s players temporarily moved to the Robert Bobin stadium in Bondoufle for the matches against Le Havre on Wednesday and this Sunday for the French Cup semi-final against PSG.

For the men, the reception of Ajaccio on March 16 raises many questions. Will it be played at Charléty? Nothing is certain. “We are seriously considering relocating the match,” revealed Arnaud Campanella, the general secretary and security manager of Paris FC, to Le Parisien.

A solution from outside of Île-de-France? While the pitch is still “waterlogged,” the passage of construction vehicles has not helped. “A laboratory came to take samples of the different layers, the stadium management is waiting for the results,” continues Arnaud Campanella.

According to Le Parisien, Paris FC is considering several options for hosting the Corsicans next weekend, including Troyes or Caen… respectively 140km and 240km from Paris.

These relocations will not help attract supporters. While fans can attend Paris FC matches for free this season in Ligue 2 and the D1, the stands may be empty.

Before the Parisian derby in the French Cup, the women’s team launched a new communication campaign to fill the Robert Bobin stadium, which is located two hours away from Charléty by public transport.
