Paris: Actor Pierre Arditi suffers another health scare during performance

The actor Pierre Arditi suffered from a dizzy spell on Friday night during a performance of the play “Lapin,” his press attache told Le Parisien, confirming information from BFMTV. The 79-year-old actor had a dizzy spell on stage after 25 minutes. He was taken care of and indicated that he would “return” to the stage the next day, the same source said.

Suffering from a vagal fainting spell during a performance of “Lapin” at the Théâtre Edouard-VII on September 27, the actor resumed his role on October 4. However, it was too early. A new bout of fatigue had forced him to stop again a few days later, this time for three weeks of real recovery. Pierre Arditi finally returned to the stage alongside Muriel Robin on November 8.

“The body sends warning signals”

He said at the time that he had suffered from a bout of fatigue. “I had taken on too many things, and with Covid, many projects had piled up, which I then had to juggle simultaneously, including the Alphonse series by Nicolas Bedos, and this Clemenceau. I’m not a spring chicken anymore, it was hard for me to wrap my head around that. I will take it easy,” he assured Le Parisien last month.

Pierre Arditi said he had planned to play “Lapin” until the end of January 2024. “And then I was supposed to play a play with Ludmila Mikaël, which will be postponed for several months. I’m going to rest, I’m writing. About life, mine in particular,” he detailed.

“The body sends warning signals, I heard. Writing is a good opportunity to reflect, for a few months of tranquility. I am very active and will continue to be, but not at the same frequency,” he added.
