Paris 2024 Olympics: Name of First Torchbearer in Vaucluse Revealed

In 160 days, the Olympic flame will pass through Vaucluse. On June 19, several hundred people will relay from Apt to Sorgues, passing through the ancient theater of Orange, Avignon, and Mont Ventoux. On the giant of Provence, a collective relay will be organized, composed of athletes, champions, referees, and more. The 2008 BMX Olympic champion in Beijing, Anne-Caroline Chausson, will be the captain of the relay. Her name was revealed on Wednesday.

“These are strong symbols for my entire career and for myself. It’s also a form of recognition,” said the champion. “It’s also the region where I live, where I trained in 2008 before the Olympic Games,” added Anne-Caroline Chausson.
