Oracle Healthcare Division Faces Significant Job Cuts

Report: Oracle cuts hundreds of jobs in healthcare division

According to a report by business magazine Insider, Oracle, a software company, is making significant job cuts in its health IT division, which includes Cerner. This comes after Oracle’s acquisition of Cerner last year. Job offers will be withdrawn and vacancies will not be filled. The decision is allegedly due to issues that Cerner has faced with a major order from the US government. Oracle’s acquisition of Cerner in June 2022 marked the largest takeover in the company’s history, with a purchase price of 28.3 billion US dollars. Cerner, based in North Kansas City, Missouri, specializes in health data management systems and also has a presence in Germany. Bloomberg reports that Cerner had around 25,000 employees at the time of the takeover and had already experienced layoffs in March. This job cut trend is not unique to Oracle, as many tech companies are currently making similar moves.
