One of the Burglars Arrested Thanks to Geolocation of Stolen Phone After Stealing 200,000 Euros

An investigation has been entrusted to the judicial police of Paris. A couple was surprised in the middle of the night by the intrusion of three men into their home in the 16th arrondissement of Paris.

A couple was violently woken up by three burglars in the night from Friday to Saturday. In a small private alley in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, three hooded men gained entry through a window leading to the bathroom of a house and took possession of the premises, according to police sources who confirmed information from Le Parisien. They tied the couple of owners and forced them to give them access to the safe.

The three criminals made off with jewelry and cash amounting to around 200,000 euros. They also took an iPhone. After the burglars left, the couple freed themselves and called the police. Quickly, the investigators managed to find the stolen smartphone using the “Find My Phone” app.

The device was traced to a neighborhood in Pantin, Seine-Saint-Denis. Immediately, a night BAC team was dispatched and spotted three individuals who matched the description provided by the victims. One of them was arrested in possession of a bag belonging to the couple and is placed in police custody, while the other two men managed to escape. They are actively sought after by the authorities.
