The Journey of The Knights of the Zodiac Remake
The journey of the live-action remake of the mythical anime ‘The Knights of the Zodiac’ has been a long one indeed. It has already been six years since its launch was first announced. This long season has finally led us to a new CGI version that has not been good for the IP.
Saint Seiya Evolution is the final result of this long journey. About four months ago, we were able to take a first look at the new version in a brief preview. It evoked the infamous ‘Dragonball Evolution‘, a feeling that we can now confirm after seeing its first full trailer. Its passages seem to be taken from a more expensive fan film than usual.
However, let’s not be too hasty and focus on the facts. “The Knights of the Zodiac” will be a feature film directed by the Polish short filmmaker Tomasz Bagiński. The cast includes Famke Janssen, Sean Bean, Madison Iseman, and Mackenyu Arata, who will bring flesh and blood to Seiya.
While we wait for its premiere, scheduled for May 25, let’s see what its official synopsis has to offer: “Seiya, a stubborn street teenager, spends his time fighting for money while looking for his kidnapped sister. When his fights reveal mystical powers he didn’t know he had, Seiya finds himself immersed in a world of warring saints, ancient magical training, and a reincarnated goddess who needs his protection. To survive, he must accept his destiny and sacrifice everything to take his place among the Knights of the Zodiac”.
