New title: PSG revolution in Paris, Qatar imitates Real Madrid

Foot – Mercato – PSG

The PSG has already made its first winter recruit. Lucas Beraldo, a young Brazilian defender, has signed a long-term contract with the capital club. He is expected to be joined by Gabriel Moscardo, another Brazilian who plays in the local league like him. These two transfers are part of the new method adopted by Qatar, which aims to be less ‘bling bling’ and is strongly reminiscent of the approach taken by Real Madrid.

Qatar has had enough. This time, the owners of PSG seem determined to abandon the recruitment of big names in favor of young players with great potential. This is evident with the arrival of Lucas Beraldo and the expected arrival of Gabriel Moscardo, two young Brazilians who play in the local league, Brasileirão Assaí. By drawing from South America, PSG is following the example of Real Madrid, which has been a specialist in transfers from South America for several seasons.

Real Madrid’s expertise in South American transfers

Since the 2018/2019 season, the Madrid club has focused on big South American talents and the leaders have rarely been wrong. Vinicius Jr was the first significant signing, snatched for €45M from Flamengo. A season later, Real Madrid recruited Rodrygo for a similar amount from Santos, as well as Reinier for €35M from Flamengo. Endrick was added to this impressive list, arriving from Palmeiras and having to wait until he comes of age to defend his new colors. This has clearly inspired PSG.

PSG scouts in South America

In addition to Lucas Beraldo and Gabriel Moscardo, PSG has reportedly shown interest in Claudio Echeverri, the star of River Plate who is expected to join Manchester City. However, the possibility of signing Allen Obando, the phenomenon of Ecuadorian football, is not on the agenda, as we have reported on le10sport.com.
