New Mainstream Graphics Cards Experience Price Drop on Hot Online Platforms

Price slide in new mainstream graphics cards | hot online

The graphics card market recently saw the release of two new mainstream products. Nvidia launched the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti at a price of 439 euros, followed by AMD’s Radeon RX 7600 with a recommended price of 299 euros. However, these new releases were met with lukewarm reviews from testers due to their relatively small performance advantage compared to the previous generation.

In addition to the performance critique, both the Nvidia and AMD graphics cards have been criticized for their limited memory. The new cards, like their predecessors, only come with 8 GB of video RAM. This shortage of memory can cause issues such as graphic stutters and gradual texture visibility when playing games at the highest detail levels in Full HD.

The prices for the new graphics cards have already started to drop, surprising many. Some models of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti can be found for less than 430 euros only a week after launch. Similarly, some online retailers are selling the AMD Radeon RX 7600 Fighter for as cheap as 269 euros, well below the recommended retail price.

It is difficult to determine why the prices are dropping so rapidly, whether in response to negative reviews or for other reasons. Regardless, buyers in this price segment are advised to consider the performance leap compared to their current cards and whether it is necessary to invest in the latest generation. A slightly slower Radeon RX 6650 XT is available for less, starting from 250 euros, which could be a more cost-effective choice for some.

It is important to keep in mind that while 8 GB is currently enough memory for gaming at the highest detail levels, future games will likely require more VRAM. Therefore, buyers should consider their future gaming needs as well when making a purchase decision.
