‘Mortal Kombat 2’ to Feature Karl Urban as Johnny Cage

Jeremy Slater, known for his work on ‘Caballero Luna’, is set to write the script for the sequel, with Simon McQuoid returning as director. However, news released by The Wrap has revealed that negotiations are currently underway for Karl Urban to portray Johnny Cage in the upcoming film.

Karl Urban, famous for his roles in ‘The Boys’, ‘Star Trek’, and ‘Dredd’, has garnered a following for his unique performances. Therefore, casting him as Johnny Cage, known for his cockiness and badass attitude, seems to be a great fit for the actor, assuming the negotiations are successful.

It is worth noting that the post-credits scene in the first movie hinted at Johnny Cage’s presence among the fighters. With Karl Urban potentially playing the famous character in the second film of the franchise, anticipation among fans for the sequel is at an all-time high.
