Miss Île-de-France 2023: Elena Faliez, 28, the reigning Miss Paris, crowned this Sunday

Elena Faliez, aged 28, was crowned Miss Île-de-France 2023 on Sunday evening in Dammarie-les-Lys. She was overcome with emotion and fell into the arms of her first runner-up before being lifted onto the stage by Miss France 2023, Indira Ampiot, and Miss Île-de-France 2022, Adèle Bonnamour. This victory could potentially lead to further success for Elena, just as it did for Diane Leyre, who was crowned Miss France in 2022 after being Miss Paris and Miss Île-de-France. It was the first time since 1997 that a Miss Paris had won the national title.

The Miss Île-de-France pageant took place in the grand hall of the Espace Pierre-Bachelet in Dammarie-les-Lys, Seine-et-Marne. The audience cheered for their favorite contestants, shouting their names in support. Laure Mattioli, former Miss Bourgogne 2001, led the event as the director of the regional committee. This was her 10th year organizing the pageant.

The theme of the ceremony was television series, and the contestants walked the stage in dark costumes inspired by the Netflix series “Mercredi,” followed by iconic looks from “Charlie’s Angels” and “Emily in Paris.” They then showcased red swimsuits for the “Baywatch” segment and finished with princess-inspired dresses for “Bridgerton.” Elena’s impressive response to an eco-friendly question from the jury likely played a role in her victory.

Diane Leyre, Miss France 2022, was honored during the intermission as she will soon travel to South America and El Salvador to compete in the Miss Universe pageant on November 18th. Afterward, Elena Faliez took center stage and celebrated her win. In the coming weeks, she will have a busy schedule filled with photoshoots and a trip to French Guiana with the other contestants before representing Île-de-France in the Miss France 2024 pageant, which will be held in Dijon, Côte d’Or, on December 16th.
