Michael Eifert: Boxing Sensation in Canada

In a surprising turn of events, 25-year-old Michael Eifert from Kempten, Germany won the IBF light heavyweight elimination fight against former world champion Jean Pascal in Laval, Canada. Despite Pascal being the favorite, Eifert came out on top after twelve high-class rounds. The judges scored the fight 118:110, 115:113, and 117:111 in favor of Eifert.

Eifert is a member of the Magdeburg professional stable SES, and his win has now earned him a shot at the reigning world champion Artur Beterbiev. Eifert expressed his excitement, stating that it was his dream to fight for the world championship. He also credited his intense preparation for the victory.

Magdeburg SES promoter Ulf Steinforth was also impressed with Eifert’s performance, calling it “world class” and stating that Eifert dominated ten out of twelve rounds. According to Steinforth, Eifert is now the number one boxer in Germany and the mandatory challenger in the IBF’s light heavyweight division.

Despite this, it is still unclear when the world title fight against Beterbiev will take place. Steinforth emphasized the need to wait and see, although there’s no doubt that Eifert’s win has made him a rising star in the world of boxing.

Eifert and his trainer Ali Celik celebrated late into the night in Laval after the win. “The hard preparation paid off,” Eifert said. “I’m as proud as Bolle.” Followers of German boxing are now eagerly awaiting Eifert’s next move as he solidifies his place on the world stage.
