Metz reverses decision on loaning young Senegalese prospect Ibou Sané to Paris FC

It’s 11pm on Thursday night at Paris FC’s center in Orly. The loan of Metz’s young hope Ibou Sané (18 years old) has just fallen through. The forward from the Génération Foot center in Dakar, considered the best of the 2004 generation in Senegal, is on the verge of tears. He had arrived in Paris earlier in the day, had completed his medical examination, and was waiting in the offices at Orly to sign his contract.

But at the last moment, Metz president Bernard Serin changed his mind. Despite calls from Paris FC’s management, he did not respond. Pierre Dreossi, Metz’s general manager who had previously worked for Paris FC between 2015 and 2019, tried to fix things but to no avail. Paris FC was quite upset by the turn of events.

The staff had been impressed by Sané’s profile, with 4 appearances in Ligue 1 this season including a substitute appearance at the Parc des Princes against PSG, and 8 goals scored with the reserves (N3). Even without the departure of another forward (Mohamed Touré), Paris FC had still decided to sign him to strengthen their attacking sector. During the day on Thursday, they had even dismissed other proposed profiles to prioritize Ibou Sané. After the non-arrival of Guéla Doué despite an agreement with Rennes at the end of December, Paris FC is experiencing a second disappointment when everything was almost set…

So, Paris FC’s transfer window ends with four new signings: Rémy Riou (goalkeeper, Lyon), Tuomas Ollila (left-back, Helsinki), Vincent Marchetti (midfielder, AC Ajaccio), and Nouha Dicko (forward, OFI Crete), and two departures, Gabriel Oualengbé (loan, Créteil) and Yohan Demoncy (contract terminated, Annecy).
