Mau Nieto shares his take on Ricardo O’Farrill’s viral videos

Mexico City – Last week, Ricardo O’Farrill made serious allegations via Instagram accusing fellow comedians Mauricio Nieto and Daniel Sosa of drugging a woman and highlighting the existence of alleged excessive behavior within the world of stand-up comedy in Mexico. Following this, Nieto came forward to give his version of the events.

“I’m going to talk about my point because I’m already fed up with insulting myself and my wife,” Nieto wrote, adding a photograph of what appeared to be soil. According to Nieto, O’Farrill was invited to his wedding like everyone else but arrived in an aggressive and deplorable state. Nieto didn’t confirm or deny that he was drugged, but he arrived differently from the Richie they had invited. After videos emerged of four guards trying to enter the wedding, Nieto revealed that O’Farrill had thrown a lit joint in Daniel Sosa’s face and was offending people.

Nieto claimed that O’Farrill was taken out of the wedding and the next day arrived super aggressive with armed people he hired that morning. He wanted to enter the round, pushed and hurt Samantha, the wedding planner, and also offended Nieto’s wife through messages and threatened Nieto.

After O’Farrill’s shocking allegations, his family announced that they and a team of professionals were taking care of him, but at the moment, his health status is unknown. Throughout the week, many people from the stand-up world in Mexico spoke out for and against the comedians involved in the event, with many confirming O’Farrill’s allegations.

It’s worth noting that in the middle of last year, Nieto was accused of sexual abuse by producer Melissa Yamel on social media. Shortly after, Nieto denied the allegations and revealed that he had legally proceeded against the accusations of defamation.

In conclusion, these allegations and events demonstrate that the world of stand-up comedy in Mexico can be as problematic as in other countries. It’s hoped that this incident will shine a light on the need for change and improved behavior within the industry.
