Market – PSG: Paris signs two recruits, a big announcement is made

The PSG has officially announced its first winter signing, Lucas Beraldo. The 20-year-old Brazilian central defender has already completed his first training sessions with his new teammates at the PSG Campus. Another Brazilian arrival, Gabriel Moscardo, is expected in the coming hours. The duo of Brazilian players has been recruited to prepare for the future and is not expected to be a failure.

The history of PSG and Brazil is a true love story. Among the most iconic Brazilian players to have worn the Parisian shirt are Rai, Ronaldinho, Thiago Silva, and Neymar. But occasionally, PSG has made mistakes with certain profiles, such as Everton and Souza who arrived in 2006.

Naturally, among PSG fans, the prospect of reliving the fiasco of the Brazilian duo Everton-Souza from 2006 with Beraldo-Moscardo resurfaces. According to Laurent Perrin, a journalist for Le Parisien, these two duos have nothing in common: “No, it’s not the same thing. Everton and Souza were desperate moves, made in haste without much work from the recruitment team at the time. This failure was mainly the result of disagreements between Paul Le Guen and Alain Roche.”

The journalist then explains the reasons why PSG has moved to sign these two new recruits: “In this case, Luis Campos has been following the two players for a long time, they are young, perfectible, and are not coming as saviors but to prepare for the future. They will have time to acclimate. If PSG allows Moscardo to undergo surgery and be absent for three months, it’s because they see a long-term future with him. They didn’t recruit him to be stronger in the Champions League in a month and a half.”
